Bossier takes on Favorite's role

Bossier Bearkats boys basketball coach Jeremiah Williams used the power of the underdog to propel his team's run to the Class 4A championship game in March.


As the 2009-10 high school basketball season begins in earnest tonight, Williams won't have that piece of motivation for his team. In this area, the Bearkats are much more favorite than little engine that could.
 
"We've got to learn to play as the hunted instead of trying to hunt somebody," Williams said. "We've got to get used to playing that role. We're used to being the underdogs, people saying we're too small and we're not supposed to win. Now people are expecting us to win."
