Lakeside High: Don Stahl Memorial Tourney under way

Lakeside teams get first round wins; Minden also gets a victory

The 16th Annual Don Stahl Memorial Tournament tipped off Wednesday, and the host team took home a win.

Lakeside 82, Farmerville 44

Lakeside started fast, jumping out to a 19-10 first quarter lead over Farmerville and never looked back. The Warriors out-scored the Farmers in the following two quarters (22-11 and 27-9) to increase their lead to 68-30 going into the fourth quarter. Lakeside eased up in the final period and took the 82-44 win. Armon Wallace led the Warriors with 24 points and T.J. Carpenter added 19. Wesley Hicks and Travarious Thornton each scored nine. Akeem Johnson dropped in six and Tre’lon McDaniel added three. Jerrell Tellis and Rodney Jenkins each scored two.
Cotton Valley 69, Doyline 42


6'6" sophomore Jeffrey Walker led Cotton Valley with 33 points and Kendrick Wembley scored 12. Blaine Sumlin added eight points. Jesse Gallegos led Doyline with nine points and Ethan Boze, Trey Jackson, Phillip Edwards and Chris Ealy all scored six. Nelson Siah added three.

Lakeview 51, Haynesville 26


Gary Braden led Lakeview with 21 points and Alan Lewis had nine. Kendal Hardwell led Haynesville with eight points and Ron Washington had seven.
