Shreveport Area Hoops Report

SOUTHWOOD 106, GIBSLAND-COLEMAN 36: At Southwood, Dean Johns pumped in a game-high 24 points to lead the Cowboys to the easy season-opening win. Southwood hit nine 3-pointers in the victory, including five from Johns.


HUNTINGTON 80, MANSFIELD 39: At Huntington, JaRod Farmer keyed the Raiders' fast start with three 3-pointers en route to a game-high 19 points. Michael Qualls(pictured below) added 12 for the Raiders.



MINDEN 68, ATHENS 58: At Minden, Jay Beavers and A.J. Shine(pictured below) combined for 44 points as the Crimson Tide handed Athens (11-1) its first loss.


PLAIN DEALING 72, PARKWAY 56: At Parkway, YonDarius Johnson's(pictured below) game-high 29 points led the Lions ot the season-opening victory.




BTW 76, RINGGOLD 55: At BTW, Kevin Sampson dropped in 24 points and Traavis Hawkins added 16 as the Lions (1-0) knocked off the Redskins. DeMarcus Madison led Ringgold (0-1) with 15 points.

RED RIVER 68, NORTH CADDO 53: At Vivian, Cordarius Johnson led a balanced Red River attack with 22 points as the Bulldogs opened the season with a win. Darius Owens paced the Reb els (0-1) with 16 points.


CALVARY 76, ST. MARY'S 53: At Calvary, Timothy Thompson hit all five of his 3-point attempts to give first-year head coach Chris Thompson his first win. Timothy Thompson finished with 32 points.


BOSSIER 78, SPRINGHILL 53: At Springhill, Devonte Francis'(pictured below) 20 points led Bossier to the season-opening win. Ken Cooper led Springhill (0-1) with a game-high 23 points.
